Clearing the Infill

Responsibilities of the developer

During the years of neglect of the canal various organisations utilised the unused land around the canal. This practice was to remodel the canal by infilling sections so creating usable land. This was all done with the best of intentions but a consequence of which was that the infill material was obtained from sources we would not use today. Modern legislation requires that we should remove all contaminated materials from the environment. This section sets out to describe the process of planning for the removal of this infill.
