Farms in Longney and Elmore

There are three main types of farming in Elmore they are: Beef, Dairy and Arable. The types of Arable crops grown are: Wheat, Barley and Oilseed Rape. There is also a new Equestrian Centre.

Elmore has a Church, St. John the Baptist, as well as a Village Hall which is used regularly. The Village Hall is used for; Toddlers, Raising money through coffee mornings, W.I, Mothers Union, Bridge and Brownies. A big event is The Village Hall players which do a pantomime every year. Last year they did the Thee Musketeers and this year are doing Cinderella.

Elmore Back

In Elmore Back there are 3 farms, the types of farming are: Beef cattle, Arable, Dairy cattle and an Equestrian Centre. The types of Arable crops grown are Wheat and Barley.

Elmore Back is situated along the banks of the River Severn so many people in 2007 thought they were going to be flooded. Luckily nobody was!


In Longney the 3 farms are made up of: an Equestrian Centre, Arable, Beef cattle and pigs.

In Longney there is a school (Longney C of E Primary) St. Laurence Church which is opposite the school and also there is a Chapel.
