Why should an investigation be required at all.

There are responsibilities on the developer to discover the nature of the infill where infill is known to exist. 'Contaminated Land' is a presentation given by Halcrow (The organisation retained to investigate the potential of contamination) to its clients to show why and how these responsibilities assert themselves.

What do we already know

'Figure 2.4' is a Drawing issued by British Waterways in 2007. It shows, from documentary research, what is known regarding the Infill. It also suggests sites for archaeological trenches. This type of investigation is not mentioned in Soil sample but is intended to gather artefacts as evidence of occupation of the site and the culture of the community.
