Hi I have just read Bruce Swattons' & Jon Shaws' posts, with regard to The Epney Lass of Gloucester. I thought you might be interested to know that my aunt's father, Henry Browning, was a crew member on the Epney Lass in 1901 with Felix Silvey. Unfortunately, Henry died at sea during WW1, so I do not know a lot about his time at sea. So Bruce, I would love to see a copy of the water colour if that is at all possible, as I have no idea what the Epney Lass looked like. Kind regards Maureen Bull

I lived in Saul from 1960 and after attending the local village school most of us went on to the then brand new Severn Vale school at Quedgeley. We were taken there by S.K.Silvey coaches running from Arlingham to the school. There was also a village shop in Saul opposite the village school run by Stella Silvey and her sister. I seem to remember a Lorna Silvey from around that time and think we were probably at school together.

Amazing! Fantastic photo! Uncle Sam Silvey was actually my Great Uncle by marriage.. his wife Ethel was sister to my Grandmother - Lily Stroud (nee Burford).. as a little lad in the 60s I spent many days during summer school holidays riding on SK Silvey’s coaches.. I have a photo of Sam and Ethel with all their drivers taken in the 60s.. great stuff!
