The Old Forge and Whitminster Stores

By Peter Harrison

These photos show the Old Forge and Whitminster Stores in the 1970's. The Wyer family sold the the  Forge property to a Mr Blaney  who added the building now used as Whitminster Stores and the workshops at the rear now occupied by Machinery Development Services.  Mr Blaney intended to use the Stores building as a car showroom but this never took place. The whole site was then bought by a Mr Ashworth who converted the "showroom" into a shop and then the Forge into a  pub/restaurant.
